(or Top Fashion Styles For Upcoming Winter. And Shoes Of Course!)

Winter is coming (yes, exactly like in Game of Thrones) so I wanted to show 10 hottest fashion trends that designers have predicted for the upcoming coldness! Be prepare to wear a lot of khaki color, fury accessories, goldish elements, but also check what could be your ideal shoes to match the particular trend. And all that in pictures…

1. The trend is – Furrr… Meow!

It’s getting colder, so fur is pretty much inevitable for this winter. But the trend is not just the fur – the prints are getting wilder and colors are more unusual and vibrant. Think Karl Lagerfeld for Fendi (with Cara Delevingne of course!) but also Emilio Pucci, Gucci and Alexandar McQueen. And it looks like designers have change the very shape of the fur – hoods, waistcoats, sleeves and of course – boots! High heels and foxy ankle boots with buttons (and lots of details) are big hit for upcoming winter. Just look at these black Isabel Marant’s (on top) and zebra looking Fendi escarpins (bottom right).

 2. The trend is – Oversized turtle necks… Or anything else.

Big sweaters, big turtlenecks, big jackets and big, well everything! Wearing oversized clothes is a massive trend this year! Especially Nord style influence sweaters with big collars – cozy mountain patterns, big zippers and stitched crystal pearls. On pictures you can see what I mean with Chanel and Rag & Bone, but Stella McCartney, Fendi and Saint Lourant are also making the best of oversized garments. And believe it or not – even shoes can be oversized (or look like it): just look at these red Rag & Bone boots on top; and on the bottom you see how Alexander Wang presented his version of half open boots that are just covering the shin.

 3. The trend is – Masculine Suits.

They may look rigorous but there are no rules here – renovated classic tailored suits have brand new patterns and shades. Masculine outfits also present a kind of never-fading trend and these pieces have found their best presentation in the shows of Ralph Lauren, Hermes and Fendi. When it comes to shoes, you can prove that you are true girl wearing a man suit with high heels like these black Giorgio Armani’s (on top) or just go with the flow and wear great flats like Acne (bottom).

4. The trend is – Poncho (or blanket size scarves).

Poncho, cape, really big scarf – whatever you got, just cover it up! If this is your thing, folk style ponchos can be found at Burrbery, Cavalli and Tommy Hilfiger. As far as for scarves, there’s the-bigger-the-better rule and if you are more into cape – fairytale capes with hoods are seen at Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana as a unique protection from the cold world (and winter). So if you put layer upon layer you can’t go wrong, and as for the matching shoes – try any type of boots as long as they have pointed toe and back zippers. I absolutely love these leather Todd Lynn’s boots (on top), but it seems that Versace really hit a stylish nerve (on bottom) – these long legged boots with grid looking pattern is a trend seen everywhere!

5. The trend is – Hello 60’s!

Remember Jackie Kennedy, Aretha Franklin and Brigitte Bardot? Well, designers certainly do! Prada, Gucci, Saint Laurent and Louis Vuitton presented polished 60’s echo with mini skirts, pastel colors, vintage prints and retro bags. And it’s not just the 60’s – it’s the mix of retro spirit – baby doll style, white pearls and garments with fringes (maybe a bit of cowboy tendency too). As for the shoes, the trend is lace and suede all over again and of course Mary-Janes – timeless chic with ankle straps. Great suggestion are these tights-like boots Just Cavalli (on top), and more glam looking Luis Viton (on bottom).

6. The trend is – Coats (house robes, rainy and larger than life).

Maybe this wear-it-big trend is just a perfect way to cover up that usual winter weight gain. And the best choice to use your protection from low temperatures to show off your style – try Dolce & Gabbana, Valentino and Stella McCartney. Coats are this year poetic, dreamy and imaginative but also looking very much like big house robes and rainy coats. As for the shoes, tight high boots remain in focus: my suggestions are black and white Saint Laurent boots (on top) and these black Chanel with straps (bottom).

7. The trend is – Knitted things.

Think gloves, shawls, winter caps, and then go bigger – pants, tunics and even skirts and dresses! One of the most leading trends for this winter is soft fleece with blended colors all together creating full knitted look, as seen at Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Celine and Calvin Klein. And although it seems there are no matching shoes with this style, bulky sneakers with platforms are very popular like these Stella McCartney’s (on top), but if you want to avoid color dullness try these red Valentino boots (bottom).

8. The trend is – Gold rush!

Well maybe not so much a gold rush as a sparkly texture, rhinestones and faux gems – trend seen mainly at Saint Laurent but also at Prada, Gucci and Moschino. Try wearing shimmery and sparkling patterns that are also incorporated with feline look. As for the shoes, they are also shiny, decorated with strass and even crystalized – just check these Saint Laurent boots (on bottom), but if you prefer just patterns to match your shine, look at these leopard printed Gucci (on top).

9. The trend is – Sporty Chic.

Imagine little black dress with sneakers or tennis dress with heels – a bit of Adidas spirit in bright colors and a true retro kick. Great examples of this may be found with Fendi, Louis Viton and Miu Miu. Colors like red, blue and white are fiercely dominating over brown and black making a perfect union – looking cool and chic at the same time. Sports vibe is also in footwear and your feet can finally rest in flat and colorful: some favorites are these Miu Miu boots and zebra printed Katie Grand Loves Hogan flats.

10. The trend is – Aaa-tteee-ntion! Military!

Although I am a true pacifist, I absolutely support military trend set up for this winter! And everybody knows that with camouflage patterns you can’t go wrong! Dominating khaki inspired many designers this season, especially Alexander Wang, AF Vandevorst and Fendi. As for shoes, they have base of uniform look and structured silhouettes, so this means wearing boots in general like these Saint Laurent (on bottom), but you can pass with great-looking high hells like these black Louis Vuitton’s (on top).

In the end, what do you think about the designers choice set up for this year? What are your favorites and what would you wear this winter?
